Well, here we are on SuperBowl XLIX, Sunday February 1, 2015. And apparently #deflategate didn’t matter whatsoever, as they’re going ahead with the SuperBowl game today anyway.
Although there has been a lot of controversy around the deflated footballs (thus this website named Floppy Football was born), we still have a SuperBowl today, and the New England Patriots are battling the Seattle Seahawks. And it looks like although footballs were deflated, making them easier to catch, there is going to be no official NFL decision on whether or not the New England Patriots cheated when they deflated the footballs.
After all, someone had to make that decision, and the NFL, by making no decision whatsoever, made a decision. It’s apparently okay to cheat by deflating your footballs and making them floppy footballs. And it’s okay to do that when it’s going to be cold outside during the game. It’s okay to make it easier for your quarterback, Tom Brady, to hold and throw the ball, and easier for those wide receivers to catch the ball.
Let’s just see if how SuperBowl XLIX goes. The game starts today at 3:30pm Pacific Time.
